Consultation
You will meet with a qualified surgeon to discuss your goals and expectations, and to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure.
Anesthesia
Labiaplasty can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the procedure and the patient’s preference.
Incisions
The surgeon will make incisions in the labia minora or labia majora, depending on the desired outcome. The incisions may be made using a scalpel, laser, or radiofrequency device.
Reshaping
The surgeon will then reshape the labia by removing excess tissue, or by folding and suturing the tissue to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Closure
The incisions will be closed using dissolvable stitches, and the area may be covered with a dressing or compression garment.
Recovery
You will need to take time off work and avoid physical activity for several days to weeks following the procedure. You may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort during the recovery period, but these symptoms can usually be managed with pain medication and ice packs.
Follow-up
You will need to attend follow-up appointments with your surgeon to monitor your healing progress and to ensure that there are no complications.
